Window restoration, the process of repairing and maintaining the original windows of a structure rather than replacing them with new ones, is an art form we discovered and quickly became enamored with. The process involves a variety of tasks such as cleaning, painting, glazing, and replacing worn or damaged parts. We began intensive research and analysis of the industry, when we realized there was an opportunity to do it right, and do it better than anyone else in the marketplace.

Our founders believe in a collaborative approach to working together that involves establishing a strong, shared vision. This led to making the working relationship official, shaking hands, and committing to sharing resources, partnerships, and expertise. Built on a foundation of communication and trust, the symbiosis resulted in innovation and creativity only possible when great minds come together.

Raven’s first official client was an incredibly exciting and fulfilling experience. It represented the tangible validation of hard work and effort that was put into building and growing the business. It brought about a sense of accomplishment, confidence, and opened up the potential for further opportunities through the demonstration of quality of craftsmanship.

Raven is growing and thriving at this point! Generating a consistent and significant amount of revenue, the customer base continues to grow due to the quality of work and the increasingly positive reputation. While every business experiences market changes and challenges, Raven stayed committed to enduring, learning, adapting, and growing. Part of this was to always ensure its clients felt valued, and to contribute to the community by focussing on always having a positive impact.

Losing a dear friend that was special to Raven’s founders was a deeply emotional experience that had a significant impact. The loss of this friend brought on feelings of grief and sadness, which made a lasting impact on the company’s values. The company and its founders endured the loss and recommitted to ensuring that values of care, respect, and honesty permeated all aspects of the business as a memorial.

Hiring our first employee was a joyful and exciting experience! It marked a significant milestone in the growth and development of the business and signified the increasing demand for our products and services. It also brought about a sense of commitment to the business, as the owners now had the responsibility to create a positive work environment and to contribute positively to the quality of life of others. The addition of this employee, and the many to come, also brought new ideas and perspectives to the business, which helped to improve processes and to drive innovation.

Having a dedicated workspace offered a range of benefits which helped improve productivity, efficiency, and overall quality of work. The idea behind renting our first shop was to centralize our operations and create a specific area where our craftspeople could keep their tools, materials, and equipment organized and easily accessible. A fantastic benefit was an increase in our professional atmosphere and to streamline our operations, which led to tasks completed far more effectively.

This was a huge month for Raven! Having the busiest and most profitable month for our business was incredibly fulfilling. This profitable month marked for us a huge accomplishment, which also boosted our confidence, and provided a feeling of security. But more than anything, it demonstrated that the business was able to consistently generate revenue while—most importantly—meeting the needs of its customers. It also opened up opportunities for further growth and expansion, as the business now had the financial resources to invest in new initiatives and equipment. A huge win, and a reminder to keep growing, stay humble, and keep pushing!
